On November 10th, 2024, His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak celebrated the Holy Liturgy in the presence of Fr. Alan Shaltan, at St. Jacob of Urhoy Church in Orlando, Florida.
In his sermon, he spoke about “Renewal in Christianity Between the Old and New Testaments,” explaining that renewal means making something new again, which is central to the Bible.
He highlighted how in Ezekiel 36:26, God promises to give His people a “new heart” and a “new spirit” for transformation.
His Eminence shared practical ways to live out this renewal: through repentance and confession, reading the Bible, living like Jesus by showing love and kindness, and participating in the sacraments.
He concluded by saying that renewal is an ongoing journey, urging the faithful to seek daily growth and transformation, becoming “new creations” in Christ.v
