Palm Sunday at St. Mark’s Cathedral | Paramus, New Jersey

14 Oct

On Sunday, April 13th, 2025, His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak celebrated the Holy Liturgy at St. Mark’s Cathedral in Paramus, NJ, assisted by V. Rev. Fr. Joseph Chamoun and Rev. Fr. Joseph Shammas. His Eminence delivered the sermon on “Hosanna! The King is coming but are you ready?” He reminded everyone that Palm Sunday is a joyful day when we remember how Jesus entered Jerusalem as a humble King.

He went on by telling the faithful that Jesus didn’t come to save people from their daily problems He came to save their souls. He reminded them that Jesus came in peace, riding a donkey, showing us the power of humility. He encouraged everyone by saying that real faith isn’t just about showing up at church on Sunday it’s about following Jesus every day, even when it’s hard. He then concluded by calling Palm Sunday a wake-up call a chance to open our hearts and let Jesus come in and clean out anything that doesn’t belong. He asked everyone to be ready, not just for church, but for the day when Jesus returns in glory. He ended his sermon by wishing everyone and their families a happy and blessed Palm Sunday.
