On Sunday, April 20th, 2025 His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak celebrated the Holy Liturgy assisted by V. Rev. Fr. Joseph Chamoun, and Rev. Fr. Joseph Shammas on the occasion of the Feast of the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ at St. Mark’s Cathedral in Paramus, New Jersey. His Eminence delivered his sermon on “The First Day of the New Creation” and spoke to the faithful about the deep and beautiful meaning of the Resurrection as the beginning of something entirely new a new creation through Christ. He reminded them all that the Resurrection is not just something from the past or something we wait for in the future, but something we live and take part in today, through baptism and the life of the Church. He wished everyone a blessed Resurrection and invited them to live as true children of the empty tomb renewed, joyful, and full of hope. He finally concluded by saying, “Let us no longer live like people of the sixth day, but as those who belong to the first day of the new and eternal life.”
