On Tuesday, April 22, 2025, His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak, together with V. Rev. Fr. Joseph Chamoun, attended the Mass for the repose of the late Pope Francis. The Mass was held at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City and was celebrated by Cardinal Timothy Dolan, the Archbishop of New York. His Eminence joined in prayer with the faithful, asking God to grant rest and peace to Pope Francis’s soul.
