On Monday, June 9, 2025, God’s Children Academy celebrated the graduating class of 2024–2025 with a beautiful Graduation and Performance Ceremony. His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak opened the event with our Lord’s Prayer.
Miss Hala Shabo then invited each graduate to come forward and recite a verse from the Holy Bible, the children then named different shapes, sharing how many sides and corners each one has. One of the most touching parts of the ceremony was when the children explained the Holy Quorbono (Eucharistic Bread), describing the meanings found on the bread and what each one represents in our faith.
The students also shared some general knowledge they’ve learned throughout the year speaking about trees and their importance, U.S. currency and which President appears on each bill, as well as showing off their understanding of sight words and rhyming words.
The program came to a conclusion with our children chanting Syriac Orthodox hymns and songs, lifting up our ancient and holy language in joy.
After the ceremony, families gathered for refreshments while His Eminence congratulated the graduates and their families offering his warmest wishes and expressing from his heart how much he will truly miss them.
