His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak visited Mor Philoxenus of Mabug parish in Roanoke, VA. During this visit, His Eminence held a spiritual night on Saturday, November 5, where he gave a lecture about the feast of the Renewal of the Church, its meaning and to renew our life in Our Savior Jesus Christ.
On Sunday, November 6, His Eminence celebrated the Holy Liturgy with the assistance of Rev. Father Ibrahim Barakat, the parish priest. During the celebration, His Eminence ordained 7 new deacons to the rank of Reader (Qoruye): Jrjs Wanes, Georges labek, Ibrahim Durah, Amil Dorra, Osama Sattah, Fadi Durah and George Bhai, and 1 new young singer (Mzamrono): Matthew Dorra.
In his sermon, His Eminence spoke about the importance of serving the Holy Church and the Alter as well as the blessings that we have in our life as faithful servants of the alter of the Lord Jesus Christ.
