On Saturday, February 5, 2022, the Family & Youth Lecture Weekend Event continued with the topic of “The Problem of Evil & Pain” from a Biblical and theological point of view. His Eminence Mor Anthimos Jack Yakoub started off by telling the family and youth who were present that everything that God wants is for our own good and for our salvation and reminded them that maybe the Lord uses pain and evil that exists in this world and through one’s life can be for our salvation. His Eminence said that even though we do not know why God allows evil and pain, we do know that there are great blessings that God brings to us through the presence of evil and pain.He concluded by reassuring them that when a person is in pain, they should remember that they have the aid of the Holy Spirit, the authority of God the Father to make sense of your situation, and the support of God the Son who intercedes for us and walks with us. Wherefore “My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials” (James 1: 2).The floor was then open to a Q&A and ended with chanting Syriac Hymns and reciting meditations and prayers in English.
