On Sunday, February 7, 2022, His Eminence Mor Anthimos Jack Yakoub assisted by Very Rev. Fr. Saliba Kassis celebrated the Holy Liturgy on the feast of the Presentation of the Lord to the Temple at St. Mark’s Cathedral in Paramus, New Jersey in the presence of His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak, and Very Rev. Fr. Joseph Chamoun the Parish Priest and Rev. Fr. Gabriel Alkass. His Eminence Mor Anthimos Jack Yakoub delivered the sermon and spoke about “Waiting on the Lord.” He told the faithful that we should always understand what it means to wait on the Lord and His blessings. Although sometimes our requests will not always be fulfilled, His Eminence reminded them that the Lord always has His timing. He also mentioned to the faithful that when one sees a closed door not to break that door because He closed it for a reason and is preparing something good for you. He reminded them that when something bad happens to us it is not because the Lord does not love us but because He has His own way, and He can fulfill His ways. Archbishop Yakoub shared a verse from the Bible:“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,So are My ways higher than your ways,And My thoughts than your thoughts.”(Isaiah 55:9)His Eminence concluded by saying we should all learn and keep in mind that God has His ways to fulfill His promises. The Holy Liturgy was then followed by a procession and the order of the blessing of the candles.
