Syriac Lecture Deliverd by His Eminence Mor Anthimos Jack Yakoub about a “Holy Family” at Mor Gabriel Church in Haworth, NJ

10 Feb

On Sunday evening, February 7, 2022, by the blessing of His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak, Mor Gabriel Church in Haworth, New Jersey, hosted a lecture in Syriac and invited His Eminence Mor Anthimos Jack Yakoub to speak to the Families and Youth about “A Holy Family.” His Eminence first started by mentioning that he believes when we start talking about the Word of God, the Lord is always in the midst of us as the Lord said Himself:
“For where two or three are gathered in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”
(Matthew 18:20)
He asked the parents, what do we feed our children? Although we want our kids to be very well educated, and have good jobs and would want them to serve on the Holy Altar, do we think of feeding our children spiritual food and raising them as saints? He then talked about how we should raise our children in a Godly manner and reminded the parents that the Lord blessed them with children to lead them to His path. He also told them that the mirror image of the parents reflects how the child grows out to be. The evening was concluded by a Q&A and chanting Syriac Hymns.
