2024 Annual Pan-Orthodox Christmas

7 Jan

On December 13, 2024, on behalf of His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak, V. Rev. Fr. Joseph Chamoun and V. Rev. Fr. Joseph Shabo attended the annual Pan-Orthodox Christmas Concert at Our Lady of Zeitoun Coptic Orthodox Church hosted by His Grace Bishop David President of the Standing Conference of Oriental Orthodox Churches (SCOOCh) and Bishop of the Coptic Orthodox Diocese of New York & New England hosted. The evening featured beautiful performances by different choirs representing many Orthodox traditions, including the Syriac, Malankara-Syriac, Antiochian, Greek, Eritrean, Coptic, and Ethiopian Christian traditions. They sang hymns, prayers, and praises that showed how faith unites people from many countries and cultures.

The church was full of faithful Orthodox Christians who came to worship and celebrate together. We are grateful to V. Rev. Fr. Joseph Chamoun, who led and conducted our Syriac Orthodox Choir. His time and dedication to preparing the Archdiocesan Choir for this special night were truly appreciated. The event included powerful remarks from His Grace Bishop David, His Eminence Archbishop Titus (who was the Chairman of the Organizing Committee), and an inspiring Christmas homily by His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros. This concert was more than just music it was a time of unity, faith, and hope. All money raised from the event is going to help the struggling families in Lebanon.
