Under the Auspices of His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak, on March 21 – 22, 2025, the Suryoyto Women’s Committee held its 6th Annual Cornerstone Retreat at the Mor Aphrem Center in Paramus, NJ, for twenty-four hours of spiritual enrichment.
This year, twenty-five new sisters from the various parishes across the Archdiocese, along with the committee members and 33 volunteers from previous years, attended.
The theme of the 2025 retreat was Philippians 4:13 – “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”. The program began on Friday night with evening prayers at St. Mark’s Cathedral and included a Bible Study focusing on the theme, led by His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak.
The 24-hour program also included spiritual and team-building activities that allowed the women to reflect on their relationship with God and make new friends. The participants were able to disconnect from their daily lives and connect with their faith in Christian fellowship in an encouraging and non-judgmental environment.
