“From Doubt to Faith: Meeting the Risen Christ in a Broken World” Bible Study at Seton Hall University Upon an invitation from the Orthodox Fellowship at Seton Hall University, NJ, His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak, accompanied by Deacon Rami Maalab, led a special Bible Study session on Monday, April 28, 2025. The evening centered around the theme: “From Doubt to Faith: Meeting the Risen Christ in a Broken World,” based on the Gospel reading from John 20:19–31. Addressing a gathering of students, His Eminence reflected on the story of the Apostle Thomas, who struggled to believe in the Resurrection until he encountered the risen Lord face to face. Drawing connections between the fear and uncertainty experienced by the disciples behind closed doors and the challenges facing today’s generation, His Eminence emphasized that Jesus continues to meet His people in their doubts, fears, and brokenness offering peace, not condemnation. Through an interactive discussion, the participants explored how doubt can often become a doorway to deeper faith when brought honestly before Christ. His Eminence encouraged the attendees to recognize that in moments of suffering, confusion, and silence, the Lord invites each heart to draw near and touch the living signs of His love and, like Thomas, to proclaim with conviction, “My Lord and my God!” (John 20:28).
