On Thursday, April 10th His Eminence Mor Dionysius Jean Kawak gave a lecture at the Church of the Virgin Mary, in Paramus, New Jersey. His lecture focused on Christ’s Incarnation and His sacrifice for us all to be saved. The lecture was followed by a workshop where the youth asked him questions and discussed further.
His Eminence began by asking the Youth a question: “How would you react if Christ walked into this room right now?” He reminded the youth that Christ has already come and continues to dwell among us through His Incarnation. His Eminence said that the mystery of the Word becoming flesh is the very center of our faith not a poetic idea, but the living truth that God chose to live among us and share in our humanity.
He went on by saying that the Resurrection is the fulfillment of the Incarnation that Christ who died is now alive forevermore, and His victory over death gives us hope. His Eminence reminded everyone that the Incarnation is not something that only happened in the past; it’s alive today in the Church, in the Eucharist, and in every act of love, sacrifice, and faith we live out.
He then concluded by telling the youth that their own bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, and through Christ, they are children of the Resurrection. He called on them to live out this mystery daily with love, humility, and faith and to always remember that Christ is with them, now and always.
