On Sunday, June 1, 2025, His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak celebrated the Ceremonial Communion at St. Mark’s Syriac Orthodox Cathedral in Paramus, New Jersey, assisted by Very Rev. Fr. Joseph Chamoun.
In his sermon, His Eminence addressed the children with warmth and love, reminding them that Jesus calls them to Himself with open arms: “Let the little children come to Me…” (Luke 18:16). He spoke of the deep mystery of the Holy Eucharist and encouraged them to grow in faith, prayer, and love for the Church.
Turning to the parents, His Eminence emphasized their sacred duty to raise their children in the faith, saying that the home must be the first church where love for Christ is taught and lived. He expressed heartfelt thanks to the clergy, Sunday School staff, deacons, and volunteers who worked so hard to prepare the children for this important day.
